Coach Jesse Interviews Shaquille King

I sat with Shaquille on Saturday the 16th of May, during early registration. We are working out and conditioning (Combine Style) every Saturday from 9 am till 1 pm. Shaquille is originally from Bartow. When asked how he got started in football he said he “just wanted to play”. Ideally this is the kind of player were looking for, because if you don’t have love for the game you won’t be committed to reaching your full potential. Shaquille’s first touchdown came in a game against the Auburndale Bulls about a 15 yard barrel right up the middle. Even though now he tells me that his favorite play is a 38 pitch. I asked him what teammate best represents his teams behavior? His reply was Aaron Garrison. When asked: How would someone from the outside describe your team? He answers with just one word “MEAN”. During this interview with Shaquille King, I got the impression that this isn’t a kid that is going to do a lot of smack talk with his mouthpiece in. He seems like a young man that will wait till the next play and let his pads to all the talking for him.
